LWGY Liquid Turbine Flow Meter; instrument body with display head

Diesel meters serve fuel terminals, retail dispensers, fleet card-lock cabinets, and biodiesel batching; wherever volume reconciles to billing or fuel-quality cert. LWGY 316L body + 2Cr13 impeller take residual sulfur in EN 590 / ASTM D975 diesel; CNEX Ex d IIC T6 zone-1 ships standard. Accuracy ±0.5% of rate, the custody class for terminal transfer.

Benefits

  • 316L body for diesel sulfur tolerance
  • 2Cr13 impeller standard, duplex for biodiesel
  • CNEX Ex d IIC T6 zone-1 ships standard
  • ±0.5% of rate custody class; ISO 9001 cal cert
  • 4-20 mA + HART, RS-485, pulse, GPRS-IoT
  • 5–7 business days from the factory

Typical applications

Four diesel-fuel zones where LWGY is the standard specification.

Terminal manifold custody-transfer

Truck-loading 30–200 m³/h reconciles to ±0.5% vs truck-tank gauge. Depot/marine-bunker DN200–DN300 at 800–1800 m³/h, ±0.5% of rate.

🚛

Fleet card-lock and on-site dispensing

Card-lock dispensers 1–10 m³/h totalize per vehicle/driver/cost-center. Pulse drives K-factor counter; GPRS-IoT pushes daily volume; Ex d zone-1 covers cabinet zone.

🏪

Retail underground-tank dispensers

Submersible-pump discharge tank-to-island totalizes 4–20 m³/h to station POS for shift reconciliation. IP67 handles pump-pit submergence; ±0.5% meets weights-and-measures interval.

🌱

Biodiesel batching and B-grade blending

B5/B20/B100 batching where volumetric ratio drives fuel-quality cert. Duplex impeller upgrade takes methyl-ester chemistry that retires 2Cr13. 4-20 mA + HART drives batch setpoint.

Flow range by pipe size.

Volumetric flow range for standard-grade diesel (≈830 kg/m³ at 15 °C) across the full LWGY Series range, DN4 to DN300, covering laboratory dosing, retail submersible-pump lines, terminal manifold custody-transfer, and large-bore bunker / depot transfer.

Installation

Five install rules, with diesel-specific guidance for terminal-manifold and dispenser pump-pit service.

  1. Run pipe full; air pockets read as phantom flow.
  2. 10D upstream / 5D downstream; 20D after a 90° elbow, 50D after a partial-open valve.
  3. Bench-test pulse before pipeline insertion; verify pickup-coil and wiring before burying the meter.
  4. Slow first-fill; open outlet last; flow shock on a dry rotor spalls the bearing.
  5. Cable ≤ 1000 m, ground ≤ 10 Ω, 6-month bearing inspection.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the diesel turbine meter built on 316L body and 2Cr13 impeller instead of 304?+
Diesel under EN 590 / ASTM D975 carries residual sulfur and thiol species that pit 304 stainless within 12 to 24 months. 316L molybdenum body resists pitting; the 2Cr13 martensitic impeller holds bearing tolerance better than 430F. For B20+ biodiesel specify the duplex impeller (code G); methyl-ester chemistry retires 2Cr13 within 24 months.
What bore range covers terminal custody-transfer vs retail dispenser service?+
DN4 to DN300 covers every diesel service class on a single model. Lab dosing DN4–DN10 at 0.04 to 1.5 m³/h. Retail submersible-pump DN25–DN40 at 4 to 20 m³/h. Fleet card-lock DN20–DN25 at 1 to 10 m³/h. Terminal custody-transfer DN50–DN100 at 30 to 200 m³/h. Bunker / depot DN150–DN300 at 250 to 1800 m³/h.
What is the difference between this model and the gasoline-flow-meter?+
Both run LWGY with 316L body + Ex d zone-1. Diesel model covers DN4 to DN300 for low-volatility hydrocarbon (terminal, retail, fleet, biodiesel). Gasoline model runs DN15 to DN80 with tighter zone-1 group-IIB cert documentation for higher-volatility, lower-flash-point service. Both ship 5–7 business days. Pick by product handled.
Why is Ex d zone-1 mandatory and not zone-2 for fuel service?+
Diesel terminal manifolds, retail submersible-pump connections, and fleet card-lock cabinets are IEC zone-1 (NEC Class I Div 1); flammable vapor present in normal operation. Zone-1 mandates Ex d (flameproof) on every electrical enclosure. CNEX Ex d IIC T6 ships standard. Specify zone-1 group-IIA / IIB at order; zone-2 sites can accept zone-1 cert without requalification.
How accurate is the meter for terminal custody-transfer accounting?+
Standard ±0.5% across 1:10 to 1:20 turndown. Terminal custody-transfer runs on the same ±0.5% custody class; specify a multi-point witnessed calibration at order if the local tariff regime requires it. Standard ±0.5% covers fleet, biodiesel, and retail-station service.
What output signal pairs with terminal SCADA and retail dispenser controllers?+
Terminal SCADA (Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV, Schneider EcoStruxure) runs 4-20 mA + HART or RS-485 Modbus-RTU. Retail dispenser controllers (Wayne, Gilbarco, Tatsuno, Tokheim) accept the pulse output for K-factor scaling at the dispenser head. Unattended remote sites: specify GPRS-IoT (code 6) + 3.6 V lithium battery (V code).
What is the lead time and what certification ships standard?+
Lead time is 5–7 business days, factory direct. CNEX Ex d IIC T6 zone-1 ships standard. EMC 2014/30/EU (Annex II) ships standard. JB/T9246-2016 calibration certificate ships with each meter. IP65/66/67 selectable; IP66 typical for outdoor terminal-manifold, IP67 standard for underground-tank submersible-pump connections.
