About Jacky

Jacky Wu is the Senior Application Engineer at ProFlow Meters. He runs the pre-shipment engineering review on every order that leaves the factory; checking the meter principle against the application spec, the wetted-parts options against the medium, the operating range against the customer’s pressure and temperature spec, and the certifications against the regulatory context. The review is the reason most ProFlow standard configurations ship 5–7 business days from order confirmation without surprises at commissioning.

Jacky has 12+ years of industrial flow measurement experience across Coriolis, vortex, thermal-mass, electromagnetic, and ultrasonic technologies. The early career was vendor application support across natural-gas, hydrogen, biogas, and sanitary process services. The current focus is on closing the gap between catalog spec sheets and field reality; what the meter actually does after the calibration certificate is filed and the operator on shift has been reading the totalizer for 12 months.

How the pre-shipment engineering review works

Every ProFlow order flows through a short engineering review before it ships. The review compares the customer’s four data points; pipe size and material, medium, operating range, output need; against the model configuration and the catalog spec. About 15% of orders get reframed during review (typically vortex → TMF when operating pressure is below 1.6 MPa, or vortex with built-in T+P → a 4-instrument stack when the SCADA already runs a flow computer). The reframe is free; the customer gets a sized model recommendation back within 4 business hours.

Why the review matters: spec sheets tell you what a meter can do under perfect conditions. The review checks whether your conditions match the spec sheet’s perfect conditions; and that’s where most field-reliability problems start.
