Installation
Five install rules for the custody Coriolis on fiscal-billing service.
- Zero-point check at process temperature after install Run the zero-correction cycle with valves closed both sides, the sensor wetted, and the medium at service temperature. The zero shifts under installation stress and process temperature; running the zero before either is settled leaves a fiscal bias. Repeat zero on a 6-month interval.
- Dual-pulse termination at the prover loop counter Terminate the A and B pulse channels at the prover counter on a shielded twisted pair, with the shield grounded only at the counter end. Pre-scale the channel at the factory at order stage to match the prover counter resolution and the service flow range.
- Pipe support on both sides of the sensor The vibrating tube is sensitive to external pipe vibration. Add pipe brackets at fixed concrete or steel close to the sensor flanges. On high-vibration runs, isolate with flexible hose upstream and downstream.
- No upstream straight-pipe required The Coriolis principle is independent of velocity profile, so no upstream or downstream straight run is required. This is the spec advantage over turbine and vortex custody alternatives.
- Earth-ground the sensor housing on a separate line Cross-section ≥ 1 mm² on the sensor ground. Do not bond welding-system ground to the meter ground during pipe work; transient currents shift the zero and damage the pulse pickup.
