Cast-iron or cast-steel high-T body · pointer or LCD head

Thermal-extension 100 mm (DN15-DN50 light) / 160 mm (DN50 heavy and larger)

The LC-T series; LC-TA (thermal-extension pipe) and LC-TE (electric heat-trace) body codes; handles hot lube, asphalt, warmed HFO, hot resin, and heat-transfer oil to +200 °C on the pointer build and +150 °C on the LCD build. The thermal-extension pipe lifts the readout into ambient air. DN10 to DN200, PN1.0 to PN6.3 MPa, 0.6 to 2000 mPa·s. Diesel wet-cal per JJG 667-2010. Optional U-suffix steam jacket (LC-UTA / LC-UTE). Ships 5 to 7 business days.

Benefits

  • +200 °C pointer / +150 °C LCD: hot lube at 80 to 200 °C, asphalt 150 to 200 °C, warmed HFO 30 to 380 cSt; LCD is the tighter ceiling.
  • Thermal-extension pipe: 100 mm on DN15 to DN50 light bodies, 160 mm on DN50 heavy and larger; keeps the readout out of the hot zone.
  • No straight-pipe requirement: volumetric chamber-displacement physics measures volume directly; the only series on the site with zero D upstream.
  • Viscosity 0.6 to 2000 mPa·s: four flow-range grade cover light fuel, mid lube, high-viscosity HFO, and very-high-viscosity asphalt.
  • U-suffix steam jacket: jacket on the body shell keeps asphalt and hot resin liquid; jacket steam never enters the displacement chamber.
  • JJG 667-2010 cal, 5 to 7 day lead: diesel-oil K-factor on the data plate, ISO 9001 cert, factory-direct.

Typical applications

Four applications where this is the right pick.

🏗

Asphalt batch plant and bitumen tank farm

Hot bitumen at 150 to 200 °C, 200 to 500 mPa·s. The U-suffix jacket keeps product liquid on the truck rack.

⛽

Refinery hot-oil and warmed-HFO bunker billing

Bunker fuel and IFO 180 / 380 at terminal temperature, 30 to 380 cSt. Honest ±0.5 % of rate next to Coriolis.

⚡

Heat-transfer oil and thermal-fluid skid

Therminol or Dowtherm on a closed loop at 150 to 200 °C. The extension pipe holds the readout in ambient air.

🪨

Hot resin, hot coatings, and coke-by-product oil

Resin and coatings warmed to flow, plus coke-byproduct oil in service. The jacket prevents cold-spot freeze on the line.

Counter / displayA (pointer + 6-roller cumulative, passive) / A1 (pointer + cumulative + signal-output capable) / Z (pointer + zero-return single-shift counter) / J1 (heavy-body pointer with signal output) / ELZ (LCD electronic head, instantaneous + cumulative, +150 °C cap)
Output signalNone (mechanical pointer, passive); GF-I 3-wire pulse 12 V; GF-II 3-wire pulse 24 V; MF 4-20 mA two- or three-wire; RS-485 Modbus RTU on the LCD electronic build
Power supplyNone on mechanical pointer (passive); DC12V on GF-I and two-wire MF; DC24V on GF-II and three-wire MF; LCD electronic head DC12 to DC24V external
Hazardous-areaEx d IIBT4 housing on the pulse transmitter or LCD electronic head; the mechanical-only pointer build is passive and requires no Ex certification; the cleanest hazardous-area choice in this range
Ingress protectionIP65 typical on the electronic head; mechanical pointer is enclosed cast-body construction rated for outdoor service
ConnectionFlange JB/T79~82-1994 standard (equivalent to HG/T 20592 at PN1.6 / 2.5 / 4.0 / 6.3 MPa); ANSI 150 / 300 / 600 lb supplied to order
Ambient temperature−10 to +60 °C around the electronic head; the hot body radiates; allow clearance for natural-air convection above the thermal-extension pipe
Applicable mediaHot lube oil and gear oil at 80 to 200 °C; asphalt and bitumen at 150 to 200 °C warmed to 200-500 mPa·s; warmed heavy fuel oil (HFO / IFO 180 / IFO 380) at 30 to 380 cSt in-service; hot resin and hot coatings; coke-by-product oil at warmed in-service viscosity; heat-transfer oil (Therminol / Dowtherm) at operating temperature. Liquid only, single-phase, no entrained gas.
Out of scopeHot saturated and superheated steam (go to vortex); gas and two-phase flow (go to gas series); service above +200 °C (go to Coriolis, mass-direct to +350 °C); custody requiring ±0.1 % of rate (go to Coriolis); abrasive-particulate-laden flow (jams rotors); pulsating flow without an upstream accumulator
CalibrationDiesel-oil wet-flow calibration on the factory loop per JJG 667-2010; ISO 9001 calibration certificate ships with each meter; water calibration is explicitly forbidden on cast-iron and cast-steel bodies because water induces oval-wheel rust
Lead time5 to 7 business days from factory

Installation

Five field rules for a long-life hot-service install on an oval-gear positive-displacement meter.

  1. Upstream filter mandatory; gas-elimination filter if entrained gas possible 100 µm mesh on petroleum, finer on chemical-dosing. Air pockets over-register; gas displaces chamber volume the same as liquid.
  2. Rotor shaft horizontal regardless of pipe orientation Off-horizontal mount causes asymmetric bearing wear and K-factor drift within the first thousand hours of service.
  3. Bypass loop required on continuous 24/7 service Bypass with isolation valves above and below the meter for maintenance access. On asphalt and warmed-HFO service the bypass should be steam-traced to match the main line.
  4. Throttle INLET, on-off OUTLET; open the inlet slowly Water-hammer is the number-one cause of rotor damage on a PD meter. Never snap-open a valve upstream of the meter at full line pressure.
  5. U-suffix steam jacket on asphalt service; never steam-clean the chamber Jacket steam circulates outside the displacement chamber. Running steam through the chamber thermal-shocks bearings and clearance tolerances.

Frequently asked questions

What is the honest temperature ceiling, and what is the delta between the pointer build and the LCD electronic build?+
The pointer build runs −20 to +200 °C on the displacement chamber. The LCD electronic build runs −20 to +150 °C. The 50 °C delta is honest, documented, and structural: the LCD electronics live in closer thermal coupling to the chamber than the mechanical pointer, so the LCD ceiling is the tighter ceiling. Both builds use the same thermal-extension pipe (100 mm on DN15-DN50 light, 160 mm on DN50 heavy and larger) to carry the head into ambient air. For service above +200 °C route the inquiry to a Coriolis mass-flow meter (rated to +350 °C standard).
Will this meter measure warmed heavy fuel oil at bunker terminal viscosity, and how does it position against a premium custody oval-gear?+
Yes; warmed HFO / IFO 180 / IFO 380 at terminal in-service temperature is the canonical high-temperature oval-gear service. The range includes a dedicated high-viscosity flow-range table (200-1000 and 1000-2000 mPa·s) on DN10-DN200 that covers the entire warmed-HFO range. Accuracy ±0.5 % of rate standard, ±0.2 % of rate precision (J suffix). For ±0.1 % of rate custody, go to Coriolis.
What cert ships with the meter, and what is the lead time?+
Lead time is 5 to 7 business days from the factory. Each meter ships with a diesel-oil wet-flow calibration certificate per JJG 667-2010 (the China national metrological verification regulation for liquid volumetric flow meters), an ISO 9001 calibration certificate, a mill certificate traceable to heat number on the wetted material, and the Ex d IIBT4 housing certification on the pulse transmitter or LCD electronic head where the buyer specifies the electronic output. The factory does not ship API MPMS Chapter 5.2 custody-transfer accreditation, OIML R 117, MID MI-005, GB/T 30491, ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, or 3-A dairy listing; design conventions reference the API and OIML practice for volumetric PD flow measurement, but custody-transfer accreditation is buyer-arranged with a notified body for the project jurisdiction. Water calibration is explicitly forbidden on cast-iron and cast-steel bodies because water induces oval-wheel rust; the diesel-oil wet calibration is the factory-published verification.
